Do Nation

Do Nation helped people commit to small behaviour changes that add up to a better world, like cycling to work, eating less meat or turning the thermostat down a notch, through personal pledges and workplace campaigns. Organisations including Innocent, Network Rail, Siemens, Pret and University College London used its platform to engage employees in sustainability.

The challenge

Do Nation had taken on Count Us In, a global initiative to get one billion people to take small steps and turn them into lifestyle changes, backed by IKEA, HSBC, BT, the United Nations, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Reckitt Benckiser and Sky. It was to launch as part of Countdown, TED's global climate initiative, so the deadline could not move.

What we did

Artxcode was contracted to expand Do Nation's platform and accelerate development of the new campaign, working alongside the Do Nation team and the design agencies involved.

We built new web frontends from scratch to the campaign designs, refactored and modernised the codebase, maintained the Django multi-site setup and delivered updates to the Wagtail content management system.

Ahead of launch we set up and ran load tests so the platform could handle the attention a global campaign brings.
